A Brief History
The Icon of Colorado Skiing
Aspen's skiing heritage dates to 1946 when the Aspen Skiing Company opened Aspen Mountain — making it one of America's first modern ski resorts. Built atop a former silver mining boomtown, Aspen evolved from a quiet post-war retreat into the world's most glamorous ski destination. The town's Victorian architecture, world-class dining, and high-profile clientele have made "Aspen" synonymous with luxury mountain living.
Snowmass, opened in 1967 just 12 miles from Aspen, offers four times the skiable terrain with a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Together with Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk, the Aspen Snowmass complex spans four distinct mountains — offering something for every skier and snowboarder. Valet Ski Storage is proud to serve guests across all four mountains in the Roaring Fork Valley.
